Your Privacy at a Glance

CalculateSettlement.com is a free informational tool. All calculator computations happen entirely in your browser — your financial inputs are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We collect only what's described below, and we do not sell your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

Calculator inputs: All numbers you enter into our calculators (wages, medical bills, assets, income figures) are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. These values are never sent to our servers and are not stored by us.

Email address (optional): If you choose to unlock the full calculation report and download a PDF, we collect your email address. We use this to send you your report and, with your consent, relevant updates about our calculators. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Automatically collected data: We and our third-party analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) may collect non-personal technical data including your browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time on site, and general geographic region (country/state level only). This data cannot be used to identify you individually.

Cookies and local storage: We use browser cookies and localStorage to remember your language preference and whether you have previously unlocked a report. See Section 3 for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

To deliver the calculator results you request
To send you the PDF report you requested (if you provided your email)
To improve calculator accuracy, user experience, and site performance
To display relevant advertisements through Google AdSense and other ad networks
To comply with applicable laws and respond to legal requests

We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use the following types of cookies:

Strictly Necessary

Required for the site to function. These cannot be disabled. They store your language preference and report-unlock status (in localStorage).

Analytics

Google Analytics collects aggregate, anonymized data about how visitors use our site. We have enabled IP anonymization. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Advertising

Google AdSense and partner networks may serve interest-based ads using cookies that track your activity across websites. You can opt out at optout.aboutads.info or Google's Ad Settings at google.com/settings/ads.

You may disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics and advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use our calculators.

5. Advertising & Affiliate Links

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense and may participate in affiliate programs (such as legal referral networks). Affiliate links are disclosed in context. Clicking an affiliate link and completing a purchase or sign-up may earn us a commission at no additional cost to you.

Interest-based advertising: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other sites. To opt out of interest-based advertising, visit optout.aboutads.info or google.com/settings/ads.

6. State-Specific Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law:

California (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents may request to know what personal data we have collected, request deletion, opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell personal data), and request correction of inaccurate data. Submit requests to privacy@calculatesettlement.com. We will respond within 45 days.

Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), and Other State Laws

Residents of these states may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising and profiling. Contact us at privacy@calculatesettlement.com to exercise any of these rights. We do not discriminate against users who exercise privacy rights.

All U.S. Residents

You may opt out of Google's use of advertising cookies by visiting Google's Ad Settings. You may opt out of interest-based advertising generally at optout.aboutads.info (NAI) or optout.networkadvertising.org (DAA).

7. Data Retention

Calculator inputs: Not retained (processed in-browser only). Email addresses collected for report delivery are retained until you request deletion. Analytics data is retained in aggregate, anonymized form per Google Analytics' standard retention period (14 months by default).

8. Data Security

Because our calculators process all inputs client-side (in your browser) and do not transmit financial data to our servers, there is no risk of your financial or personal case information being exposed through our service. Our site is served over HTTPS/TLS at all times. Email addresses submitted for report delivery are stored with appropriate technical safeguards.

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our calculators are intended for adults dealing with legal and financial matters. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us at privacy@calculatesettlement.com.

10. Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. We currently do not respond differently to Do Not Track signals, but you can manage your preferences through cookie settings and the opt-out links described in Section 3.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
